1st / 2nd Line Support

Our client is looking for someone to join their organisation in a technical support capacity.    The successful person will work closely with the IT Manager, dealing with day-to-day support duties, whilst learning technical skills and getting involved with project work over time.  A suitable background will include: –

• A relevant technical education – degree, apprenticeship, etc
• Ideally 1-2 years+ experience in helpdesk / technical support
• Office 365 support experience or similar
• Ability to deal with hardware issues, build/repair laptops, fix printers, etc
• Ideally some troubleshooting experience at 2nd line
• Strong communication skills
• Strong admin skills
• Ability to learn

The role will start with the majority of position being at 1st line level; taking tickets from the system and working them through, passing the more technical aspects up to 2nd/3rd line where necessary.  The ideal candidate will have a real interest in developing their IT skills; over time you will gain practical experience in server side support, networking, etc.  It is also very important that the person has the right attitude – we are looking for team players with a can-do approach.

This role will start off in a home based capacity, moving to the office when it is practical.
