About the Job
Our client, a well-established and prominent business based in South Manchester, is currently recruiting a highly motivated field-based Business Development Manager to take a new product to market, establishing customer relationships with new accounts and driving growth in identified verticals.
With the support of a lead generation executive, your role will include:
- Identifying and targeting new business opportunities within the North-West region
- Engaging potential customers and building relationships based on trust, quality and expertise
- Building a pipeline of appointments by calling customers, converting leads, attending pre-booked visits and knocking on doors
- Conducting customer visits, fact-finding, identifying pain points and providing samples
- Maintaining regular customer contact and showcasing the benefits of great products and service
- Analysing data and using customer insights to spot gaps and seize opportunities to generate orders
- Maintaining and sharing accurate records of customer interactions and providing regular insight to the management team regarding market insights and opportunities
About You
You will be expected to place the customer at the heart of everything you do, working closely with your colleagues and upholding the company’s ethical and sustainable business practices in all interactions. You’ll need a business mindset and entrepreneurial flair, working as an expert listener who is naturally inquisitive and loves finding out about your prospects’ businesses.
Suitable candidates must have a solid track record new business sales (office or field-based), be armed with ideas and come ready to make an impact. You will also need to demonstrate:
- Drive, tenacity, ideas and ambition
- Relationship building and passion for excellent customer service
- Strong communication skills and questioning technique
- Organised, self-managed and proactive
- Willingness to travel across Greater Manchester and North West region (4 days per week with occasional overnight stays – 1 or 2 per month)
- Commitment to honest and ethical business practices
