HSDU & Endoscopy Decontamination AssistantAgenda for Change Band: 2 Hours: 37.5 per weekWith the ever changing workload in the NHS, a post has become available for a HSDU & Endoscopy Decontamination Assistant to work various shifts in the Units. Monday to Friday. We are looking to recruit a Band 2 Sterile Services Technician, to join our friendly and enthusiastic team. Our Sterile Services Department comprises of 2 units; a Sterile Services Unit which deals with decontamination of medical devices- surgical instruments and the Endoscopy Decontamination Unit which re-processes endoscopes.
Candidates for this post must have a good general education and would benefit from a decontamination back ground either from Endoscopy or Sterile Services.

This role involves various shift working patterns between 7.30am – 10.00pm and some weekend and bank holiday working when required. Once fully trained you would be required to take part on the on call rota. The candidate will be expected to be able to collect instruments & scopes from departments around the trust, manually clean, scopes and instruments before placing into a washer disinfector. They will be required to quality check items, monitor the wash cycle and its load, packing of instruments before autoclaving, delving and storing the scopes and instruments in a timely manner.
