An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen within Stockport Homes for a Finance Assistant to join us to provide financial processing and administration support to the Group; ensuring timelines are adhered to and the financial data is accurately inputted onto the company financial system.
As the first point of contact, you will respond and deal with queries from both internal and external customers whilst building and maintaining effective relationships and ensuring the accurate processing of payments to suppliers and charges to customers. You must also support the Management Accountant in the production of accurate and timely accounts whilst being clear and knowledgeable about the financial implications of growth and changes.
With a good working knowledge of financial accounting systems and good practical skills in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), the successful candidate will have the ability to ensure accuracy and demonstrate excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Candidates should also demonstrate a clear understanding the various accounting functions of a business organisation and be capable of applying the VAT and Tax rules as regulated by HMRC.
