We are currently looking to recruit a Governance and Scrutiny Officer to join us to support the Stockport Homes’ Boards and our Customer Scrutiny Panel (CSP) by planning, organising and administering their work to ensure excellence governance and scrutiny at Stockport Homes. We are looking for someone with an interest in corporate governance and customer scrutiny.
As the first point of contact for enquiries, you will provide a responsive service enabling Board members to be effective in their roles. You will also ensure continuous improvements in services by working with customers and colleagues to complete CSP reviews on time and to a high standard. You will carry out research and data analysis that will contribute to the work of the Board and CSP, and supporting the Governance Manager with the recruitment and induction of Board and CSP members. Working in the Assurance Service you will also support the Head of Service in delivering Risk Management, Internal Audit and Regulatory Compliance activity.
Capable of managing projects effectively and building and maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external contacts of varying levels of seniority, you should demonstrate a good standard of education and excellent organisational and administration skills. Able to work to deadlines and manage your own workload effectively, you should also have good attention to detail and show initiative when identifying and recommending appropriate solutions to problems.
Due to the nature of the role, you should be able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
This is a full time job but consideration will be given to part time working (minimum of 28 hours). Successful applicants will need to be able to attend evening meetings.
