Housing Support Officer (Move-On)
12 Months Contract – Part Time 18.5 Hours
Foundations was set up as a charitable arm of The Stockport Homes Group and they are now looking to recruit a Housing Support Officer to join them to support the effective operation of the Move-On homelessness rehousing project.
We now have an opportunity for a Housing Support Officer to join us to be responsible for the delivery of a person centred, strength-based support service on a part time (18.5 Hours) 12 month contract. Reporting to the Housing Support Team Leader; providing an intensive, personalised, trauma informed support service, you will empower customers to make long-term life changes leading to sustainable tenancies, increased independence and maximised connectivity within the local community.
Delivering wrap-around intensive support to customers with multiple and complex issues, you’ll liaise with other agencies to facilitate access to support, along with maintaining accurate up to date case notes. You will complete risk assessments and maintain your own safety by following lone working procedures, identifying and reporting any safeguarding issues to ensure the wellbeing of the vulnerable people.
Eligibility for the Move-on project is wide and made up of people leaving care settings, former looked after children, offenders, people with histories within homelessness; but all are at risk of becoming stuck in temporary accommodation, without a likelihood to access long-term sustainable accommodation.
With the understanding of the complex interdependencies of mental health and substance misuse and offending behaviour, candidates will have a commitment to working with vulnerable people and be capable of inspiring confidence, building rapport and engaging customers. With experience of dealing with safeguarding issues and partnership working with a wide range of agencies including, probation, ASC, health & care providers and a good working knowledge of IT and Microsoft applications, you should have good communications skills and the ability to explain information in a simple manner and complete forms and reports where necessary.
