Receptionist
We are looking to recruit a 15 hour contracted ward clerk/reception staff to join us on the Laurel Suite Oncology and Haematology Day Unit.
Working days will be set as Monday and Tuesday and this post is a job share.
The Laurel Suite is a 16 chair/1 bedded day case unit treating breast and colorectal cancer patients and a wide range of haematological conditions.
You will be required to provide a front line clerical service to clinical staff within the Unit, ensuring that appropriate support is delivered in a timely manner.
You will be directed by the ward manager to provide a meet and greet receptionist service to visitors, patients and staff.
A key responsibility for the post holder is to ensure the timely and accurate inputting of data on ‘patient centre / PAS’ to capture the admission, transfer and discharge of all patients.
To prioritise, co-ordinate and manage the updating of patients through defined pathways to enable patients to be appropriately assessed, admitted or discharged from the ward, ensuring that the bed state is maintained at all times.
The post holder will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work on your own but also as an integral part of the Multi-disciplinary team. You will need to work well under pressure as well being able to work to key performance targets.
IT knowledge is essential for this role and NHS experience would be advantageous.

If successful, this vacancy will require an standard DBS check at a cost of £26.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary. In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
