Furniture Recycling Project Assistant – Foundations
Foundations was set up as a charitable arm of The Stockport Homes Group and they are now looking to recruit a Furniture Recycling Project Assistant to join them to support the effective operation of the furniture recycling projects and contribute to ongoing developments.
We are looking to recruit a Furniture Recycling Project Assistant to support the Recycling Project Officer with planning and organising the everyday running of the project in Stockport for households in furniture poverty.
Alongside the Project Officer you will oversee the Apprentice and volunteers in collecting good quality furniture donations. This will include; logging, cleaning, testing and storing items before delivering them to households in need, who are often considered vulnerable.
Working both in a team and alone to ensure the store is kept tidy, existing stock is ready for distribution and incoming stock is properly recorded, you will adhere to health and safety requirements at all times.
With a ‘can do’ attitude and excellent communication skills, you will work effectively as part of a team within a busy environment. The ability to drive and demonstrate exceptional customer service when working with vulnerable people is essential, as is the ability to use initiative and work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
With a full UK driving licence and physically able to lift and carry a range of heavy household items, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and administration skills, including the ability to use IT in particular Microsoft Excel.
