An exciting opportunity is coming up for an aspirant leader to step into this important service lead role whilst the current holder is on maternity leave which will be from November 2020.
You will be responsible for leading Aspire, the complex safeguarding service, which provides a multi-agency response to supporting children and families, and professionals
where there are concerns about high risk domestic abuse, child exploitation and other areas of complex abuse. This includes three practice teams within Aspire, services delivered to locality social work teams and professionals across Stockport Family and the delivery of key elements of the Children Affected by Domestic Abuse plan.
You will also be leading the LA’s response to complex safeguarding and domestic abuse by contributing to the children’s and adult safeguarding partnership arrangements, being an active participant in the work happening across Greater Manchester and supporting some work done through the partners in practice Department for Education programme in other local authorities all with the goal of ensuring that children and families receive the best specialist support to reduce risk, support recovery and achieve their future ambitions.
As part of the leadership team within children’s social care and wider in Stockport Family you will also be responsible for overseeing care planning decisions, advising colleagues and contributing to practice improvement across the system.
As a qualified social worker with experience of leading teams, you will have excellent social work skills, knowledge and experience of working with domestic abuse and complex safeguarding concerns, proven skills at working in partnership and the ability to build on the excellent foundation in place already in this well established service.
You will be provided with support within a welcoming leadership team, and opportunities for coaching, mentoring and regular supervision will aid your move into this new role.
