Product Manager – Mechatronics – 45,000 starting salary
My client is a leader in it's niche market and is looking for a Product Manager to work within their New Product Innovation team, developing novel processes to support efficient and effective manufacturing and delivery of new product ideas.
The role is responsible for identifying and addressing risk in early-stage projects ensuring excellence in design for assembly, specification of equipment, and processes enabling the design and delivery of new products.
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have:
- Degree in Mechatronics Engineering or a related field;
- Experience working as a Mechatronics Engineering Supervisor or Manager.
- Experience in renewables/sustainability/off-grid energy.
Main Activities and Responsibilities ·
You will be responsible for:
- identifying and addressing risk in early-stage projects ensuring excellence in design for assembly, specification of equipment, and processes enabling the design of new products. ·
- You will Lead the Manufacturing Engineering team and be responsible for bringing a product from design to delivery. ·
- Ensuring manufacturing and assembly requirements are built into product design phases to reduce costs, improve quality and shorten production time.
- Working closely with Research, Design, Development, Testing, Procurement, Quality and Operations colleagues to enable design and reduce risk in key technologies and assemblies.
- Understanding the intricacies of the design and develop solutions that meet key KPIs, including Cost, Technical Solution, and People Development.
- Leading upstream development of projects.
- Technical responsibility for product delivery in multiple projects
- Project reviews. – activities and maturity with the project manager and design engineers to get a consensus on risk and progress for milestone reviews. ·
- Develop the processes as well as the equipment specs needed to assemble, test, and deliver products. ·
- Establish a working rapport with teams outside the Engineering Team that is essential to New Product Innovation and development.
- Own and contribute to team and department-level initiatives and change projects. .
