Due to our growing school we are looking to fill a number of SEN Teaching Assistant posts.
Lisburne School is an outstanding special school for pupils with severe and complex needs. This post is to join the Teaching Assistant staff within the school supporting pupils with additional learning needs. Above all, you must be child-centred in your approach and have the enthusiasm, motivation and ability to work with children who may not relate well to conventional teaching methods and to find connections to engage the harder to reach children. There is a strong emphasis on the nurture and care of our children combined with a significant focus on their emotional and mental health and wellbeing. Staff work tirelessly as a team to create a safe, inclusive and fun environment where children can receive the support they need to help them overcome personal barriers and obstacles and to make progress with their learning.
The post requires applicants to be able to demonstrate initiative, a desire to become involved in professional development to ensure high quality of provision, a willingness to be flexible and adapt calmly to ever changing situations. Knowledge of de-escalation strategies and Team Teach, whilst not essential, would be desirable.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to visit the school.
Please note if applicants have not heard by the interview date please assume that you have not been shortlisted on this occasion.
