Having started his career in IT telesales before clocking up 17 years recruiting for the UK’s elite IT and Sales companies, it’s no wonder Grassroots’ founder Richard knows his onions, although he’s no expert in the kitchen. 

With a keen eye for detail – he won both the axe-throwing contest and clay-pigeon shoot at the last team day out – and a definite knack of finding great candidates for roles that straddle both IT & Sales, Richard’s cracked the code to fill roles at IT firms and software houses across the UK. 

It’s just as well this would-be Eric Clapton ensures Grassroots’ recruitment processes are efficient and use resources effectively, or he wouldn’t have time to play one of his 5 acoustic guitars, chill with a glass (or two) of lager or cycle to work.  

With a degree in HR management and specialist skills in strategic planning, training, quality and compliance, Caroline keeps everyone on their toes. 

The Duracell bunny of the business, Caroline never stops! Ambitious, resilient and responsible for driving growth and performance, the chief-whip of Grassroots has to be an expert in project and time management to find time for the three big ‘G’s in her life – Gym, Gin and her identical twin Girls. Her guilty pleasure? Going out for afternoon tea, but don’t expect any home-baking! 

A problem solver and solutions provider, Steven’s pedigree in IT recruitment comes from over 20 years’ experience in growing the IT and technical divisions for regional and national agencies.

No time for waffle, Steven’s straight-talking approach is exactly what his fellow techies look for whether in contract recruitment, building relationships with clients and candidates or providing resource across the UK wide and overseas. 

Incredibly ambitious, his end-to-end level-headed approach and strong knowledge of the defence and public sectors ensures clients they are in Steven’s safe hands. 

A committed family man, hill walking, going to the gym & boxing, travelling and getting out on the golf course are what he enjoys outside of the office and, as like any good scouser, Steven has a great sense of humour – allegedly.

Having hopped over the pond for a taste of the stars and stripes life, Rick took a fast track to retail management before clocking up almost 20 years in commercial recruitment in the UK. 

Everyone loves Rick! He’s really friendly, does a fantastic job for candidates and clients, cares about people and is an all-round good egg, although best not to mention his admin skills (or lack of). Specialising in B2B sales, his experience covers all levels, particularly within the digital, technology and media sectors. 

Invite him round and he’ll cook up a great BBQ, share a few beers and watch cricket. But best of all, if you need a tent putting up, Rick’s your man – he’s learnt a lot volunteering with his son’s scout group. 

Once a serial student having studied Purchasing & Supply, Marketing and Commercial Law, David has spent over 20 years working in his specialist area of technology/IT recruitment and keeps up to date with the latest technologies and developments in the IT market.  

As you would expect from a time-served professional, David has an extensive network in the IT sector and a mass of knowledge, evident in his consultative approach and when he gets into in-depth conversations with candidates, often helped along by a steady supply of tea and Rich Tea biscuits. 

And David’s love of all things IT doesn’t stop when he’s at home where hobbies include robotics and automation and computer gaming – he’s a first person shooter you know! But he does turn off when he enjoying the garden, BBQing and on IT-free holidays.
